Photo's of Rysmierbult, PG's House and more

Writer: MiZani saysMiZani says

This is a place where the famous Afrikaans writer of Kooperasiestories and Fees van die ongenooides, PG du Plessis, lived for a big part of his life on the farm Se Moer. Old ministers Pik Botha and Ben Schoeman also lived here. This unrefined area are called #rysmierbult and #muiskraal. I went to do a shoot to get behind some of the old buildings like diamond houses, pubs like Digger's Inn, diamand fields, old ruins, an old school and church. I am showing some of my findings and delve deeper into my own remembrance of living here for two years and supporting my dad on the diamond fields when that "diamond gogga" bit him and never left, although he doesn't dig anymore. Mineral rights are difficult to come by and diesel prices has rocket. The private diggers suffer, but someone has to do the job. Some huge farmers in the area, make a difference in the area. Dad's words: Daar is twee dinge waarvoor bid nie help nie, dis vir tandpyn en om 'n diamand te kry.
